The Wii is Strong with the Force
We all knew it was coming and, thankfully we didn’t have to wait until LucasArts came out with something to play with our Wiimotes as a lightsaber.
I present, WiiSaber. The first of what I hope is many great mods and apps for PC/Mac/Linux that somehow involve lightsabers. This one is from the same guy who was responsible for this.
A video I found of some guy playing with WiiSaber.
A shame it’s only for Mac right now. I really wanna try this. Someone get to work on the Windows port.
Tired of Elmo?
Tired of trying to find a TMX Elmo for your kid? Found one and are sick of it cackling like a fiery red demon from some toy hell?
Maybe just have a sadistic streak in you?
Then by all means hit play.
If you need more there are also part 2 and part 3.
Little bastard is tough. I’ll give him that.
Blender Abuse
What could get me to drop $400 on a blender?
Follow the image link and you’ll be subjected to a series of videos containing some pure appliance madness that have me lusting after my very own Blendtech Total Blender.
My favourite videos is definitely the one where they try to blend a handful of marbles. I love his warning about not breathing in the resulting glass dust as it billows out everywhere.
If you’re curious to see what else this bladed beast can pulverize, you can also check for video updates at Will It Blog?
Magnetic Liquid
See, this one of those things they just have to turn into a toy. They could sell it on ThinkGeek and hordes of bored workers would buy a set to play with while avoiding work. Inevitably, people would find ways to display internet porn through the liquid.
Then people would start hacking the magnetic liquid to do things no one had thought of before and then someone would figure out a way to get their magnetic mass running a special distribution of Linux made solely for liquids and next thing you now there’d be huge magnetic monsters shooting their gray tendrils through people’s bodies and I totally need to focus and stop being annoyed that I was unable to secure a Wii for myself yesterday.
But yeah, the video is cool, check it out.
So Fire and Plastic Do Mix?
If you ever set fire to one of your plastic toys like all good little pyromaniacs did, you can probably imagine the horrible smells this LEGO flamethrower would create.
But frankly, who cares, that thing looks badass. Just hope he only uses it in well ventilated areas.
What’s behind those sounds on your PC?
This video might help explain why your PC makes all those crazy noises when loading, especially when your drive is really fragmented.
Seeing this is making me want to try to recover the data of an old Maxtor drive that died this past summer.
And if I can’t, I could always use it to play music:
