HD DVD comes to the Xbox 360

Suffering from feelings of inadequacy after learning that the PS3 would come with a Blueray drive, the Xbox got to work designing an external HD DVD drive for itself. Well, maybe that’s not exactly how it happened, but I like anthropomorphizing my technology.

Xbox 360 HD DVD Add-on

The drive will work on both the core and the premium versions of the 260, so you needn’t worry if you don’t have a hard drive to get the HD DVD drive working, but regardless of that, why on earth did you get a core system?!

And to keep new buyers from realizing they have nothing to play on the drive once they open it, MS has come to an agreement with Peter Jackson to include his movie King Kong as a pack-in. Makes sense since Jackson is apparently working on a future Halo game, though not Halo 3.
